Couponing Dollar Tree

Why Dollar Tree is AWESOME: I saved $57!

It may sound silly but one of my favorite stores to shop at is The Dollar Tree. You may already know that if you’ve been to this blog more than once. I have a special tag of Dollar Tree related reviews and random recipes, and having multiple in my city is awesome! I like to say that every Dollar Tree is different, and while the general stuff is found at most places (specifically talking about Dollar Tree items), the name brand, more expensive brand names aren’t always found at all the Dollar Trees. Today, I ventured out to a brand new Dollar Tree and found that they had tons of stuff that had never hit ours next door!

I’m so happy about my savings (yes, really!) that I wanted to share my collective haul and if you’re not already a regular DT shopper, to scold you and convince you to go! This was a great day to find goodies, and the best part is that you can use coupons! This means you can score items totally free or super cheap (like 55 cent crackers when they are normally over $3.00!)

Let’s talk about my haul…

I picked up two of ELF Cosmetic’s Matte Lipsticks in the shades Mulberry Maven and Dash of Pink – both currently on their website for $3.00 each. They also had these Lip Lacquers that are marked NEW on their website at the Dollar Tree. I didn’t pick them up though because I already own them!

The Snyder Rod Pretzels for a 12 ounce bag are $3.19 at Target. The bags at the DT were 10 ounces, so not exact, and if my calculations are right, I figured a 10 ounce back would be about $2.70 at Target. Basically I am a pretzel junkie and Synder’s is honestly one – if not only – of my favorite pretzel brands! Something about them, I can’t explain, but they are good, and so I grabbed two today, but last week I had picked up four bags, because they will FOR SURE be eaten! They also had Butter Snaps and one other kind of pretzel from Snyder’s, but stuck with the Rods.

I saw the Zing baking blend at said YESSS! in my head, because I’m on a low calorie, counting calorie diet and a lot of the recipes I found involving sweets call for a sugar alternative! I’m not sure if this is a discontinued product, but on Amazon there is a 2 pack (20 ounces each) for $23.00, and one pack is going for $6.95 here. I’ll go with the lowest price found.

P.S. There is a coupon available on their website for $1.50 one product – making this FREE, so even better!

I got the Cinnamon Apple Puffs from a brand named Munch Rights – which I have never heard of! They are based out in Ohio, and have some awesome qualities about them and how they are made! On Amazon, a 2 pack of these (2.75 ounces each) are going for $10.95!

The Family Size Pasta Roni was something we always use to eat in my house growing up, and honestly have never seen the Family Size box before, so that’s what initially pulled me in. A 9.6 ounce box is $1.68 online at Walmart!

The Aloha Coconut Chapstick was just a random buy that I didn’t think was a huge savings, but thought maybe it was going to be discontinued. Currently it’s on Chapstick’s website fore $1.49.

My favorite find was the Horizon Organic’s Graham crackers that are good until 2018! This is when you stock up! Especially having a little one who needs a lunchbox packed! I bought both flavors – Honey & Cinnamon – and sort of wish I purchased more because they are delicious! They are $4.42 on Amazon, but pretty sure they are more in the $3 range at Target but they would not show the price online. For confidence purposes, I will go by the Amazon price. These also came in handy since part of school supplies for my son’s 4K class was 2 boxes of crackers!

P.S. They also have a coupon on their website where if you sign up for their emails you can get $.55 off per box making these even cheaper!

The Coconut Beach coconut chips would be great for trail mix with my new plans to work on my diet. There is a 3 pack for sale on Amazon for $9.98, so divided by 3, I got about $3.32 per bag 1.4 oz bag.

Okay…and ONE LAST ONE (thanks for reading!)….General Mills’ Limited Edition Girl Scount cereal Caramel Crunch doesn’t really appeal to me, but once and a while, I don’t mind treating Truman to one of those sugary cereals for breakfast. I try to limit it as best as I can, and at a $1.00 a box, I couldn’t resist! I’m pretty sure being limited edition that this can’t be officially found anywhere beyond Dollar Tree. I couldn’t find a decent price ($6.99 on Ebay though!) so I will just say $3.00 as a general price for name brand cereal – sometimes it’s way more.

Savings: $2.00

Maybe this was boring to read, but I enjoy seeing people save money, and of course, these are all estimates. I did my best to research prices! I had fun with this post, and will probably run back using coupons to grab a few more things 🙂

THE GRAND TOTAL OF SAVINGS….$57.26!

Way awesome!
