Time to #GlowUp – My Beauty Goals of 2018!

This post has been sponsored by Olay; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

A couple weeks ago, in honor of a new year, I shared some things I wanted to improve on in the year 2018! While that was just the gist and feel like I’m always thinking of new goals, I noticed I never included my beauty related goals and how I need to #GlowUp a bit!  What does #GlowUp mean? It means deciding to take better care of ourselves, taking part in less-than-healthy habits, and overall just embracing our well-beings. With my continued partnership with Olay, and their latest release of their Olay Cleansing Infusions collection, I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to elaborate and share how I want to work on getting rid of those not-so-healthy habits!

When it comes to beauty related goals, in 2018, I want to….

Keep a Routine

To a degree, I absolutely love routines! Especially when they show that the routine is providing some kind of pay off! The last time I stuck to consistent routine was when I took part in the Olay 28-Day Challenge I was so surprised to actually see results and I fell in love with the products I used! Since running out of those products though, I failed to continue, and I’ve noticed the consequences on my face! Thanks to this challenge though, it showed me that as long as I stick to a routine, you will most likely see the results you want!

Stop neglecting my body’s skin

I tend to pay most attention to my face, when it comes to skincare, but there shouldn’t be a reason why I would need to neglect my body at the same time. Luckily this goal aligns perfectly with the new collection from Olay called Cleansing Infusions – a cleansing solution for both face body. It’s a lineup of cleaners that help remove impurities and boosts hydration so I can start to see a more natural skin glow!

The cleansers come in two scents that I think are so refreshing and enjoyable and prefect for this time of year when you’re stuck indoors, Crushed Ginger and Deep Sea Kelp. Both cleansers contain bio-renewing hydrators that help improve the overall condition of anyone’s skin.

If you are like me and love face and body washes that contains exfoliators, the Crushed Ginger body wash and facial cleanser contain exfoliators that break down as you wash, creating a micro polishing effect that helps reveal a smooth surface underneath! I felt this instantly after my face was washed.

If you prefer face and body washes without the exfoliating feel, then the Deep Sea Kelp scent would be the one for you! Using these products will help improve skin radiance by hydrating to better reflect light, and once again creating the natural glow that we all hope for! Each product has been clinically proven to enhance skin’s radiance after just one use (as tested using Olay’s unique chromometer technology).

Adding more glow to my body and care routine in general, will help boost my confidence in a time when I certainly need an extra boost! With Spring (hello, dresses!) and Summer not too far off (Swimsuit season, ahh!) I want to feel more prepared so I can feel more comfortable in my own skin!

Stop picking!

Since I am not always blessed with good skin, I still tend to get acne from time to time. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a “picker” too. A terrible habit that I am always working hard on overcoming. Picking at acne, or scabs on my face are the worst thing I could probably do! Not only is it the scabs, but it’s the dirt and grease on my fingers makes the entire situation so much worse.

Be Mindful of Purchases

I’m absolutely swamped in makeup and beauty related products and while that statement makes me happy, you can imagine how overwhelmed I feel when I think about everything I need to try! I’m in the process of decluttering quite a bit, but I in the process of decluttering, I want to make sure I find what products are awesome and what ones don’t work for me. This isn’t something that can be done overnight and it’s very well drawn out! In the meantime though, I probably don’t need another palette, right? Trust me, this is a hard one. Especially when the new seasons roll around and makeup companies bring out new launches! If anything, I want to be mindful and ask myself whether or not I really need something when I’m being impulsive.

Get a facial

I’ve never, ever gotten a facial! Having pores, and blackheads, I’d LOVE to get one this year! Part of me is self-conscious because of my skin, but I would love to learn about my skin issues and how I can properly combat them! Have you ever had a facial? Are they as magical as they sound?

Do you have beauty related goals separate from your ‘other’ goals for a new year? I’d love to hear them, if you do! If you’re looking to add new beauty products to your routine and/or focus on showing more attention to your body, be sure to check out the new line of Olay Infusions! You can find all Olay products at your nearest Rite Aid store!

I like the idea of a body wash and exfoliate in one #timesaver and I have always been a fan of Olay products. I had a facial years ago and it was very relaxing and informative about my skin! You should do it!

I love getting facials! And I need to remember to use products like this because man, my skin looks so much younger. I’m picking some up today!

I love all of your great ideas!! I need to start exfoliating more — once every other week isn’t cutting it. I should just switch to an exfoliating body wash, at the very least. 🙂

I’ve never had a facial. I do like to exfoliate, but often only do it around early summer! I’d love to have softer, smoother skin, this sounds nice.

Well, I don’t have any but I have my twin daughters who I bought all kinds of things for acne. They now use proactive twice daily to cleanse and a microderm abrasion a couple times a week. They also have a facial steamer they use somewhere along all of this.

I love that you have set beauty goals for yourself. This is something I’d like to do. Just being aware of your beauty needs is so important!

I’ve been very good about my face but I too have ignored my body skin. I need to start a routine.

Picking is a bad habit my daughter has, too. It definitely makes it worse. These are great tips!
