prAna clothing – my post-baby essential

It’s been two weeks since we welcomed our second son into the world, and as expected, I’m still adjusting with having a second person to focus on, feed and the lack of sleep that comes with it. This time around, I had a c-section due to my labor not progressing further than 8 cm after over 12 hours of trying to give birth vaginally. I never expected to have one, but in the end, we just wanted what was right and for the baby to come out!

Big feet run in the family 🙂

This time around, because of the cesarean, the recovery process has been a bit slow and at times depressing because of how little I feel like I want to do. I’m trying not to force myself to do things that my body just can’t handle, but it’s also pretty difficult for me to sit back and watch the house get tore up by a 4 year old and see the laundry and dishes pile up. Not to mention the feelings of confinement that occasionally occur from being inside. It’s way to cold right now in Wisconsin to really enjoy being outside so for the most part I have been holed up (mostly by choice) in our apartment.

At this point, one thing I can officially say that has been a post-baby essential has been comfortable clothing. Luckily, I received two clothing items from prAna days before I had my son. All of prAna’s clothing are made of organic cotton or of hemp, are planet friendly and many of the items (including the dress I picked out) are made of recycled materials. Their ultimate goal is to make sustainable clothing accessible and important to everyone. The clothing is created to be fashionable, comfortable and versatile – great to wear anywhere “from city streets to mountain peaks.” This has been true for me these past couple weeks because I’ve worn them out (Target run!) and mostly inside where it’s warm.

I received the Mantra Pant Relaxed Fit in Light Red Violet and the V-Neck Supportive Racer Back Shauna Dress in Charcoal Compass. I can’t explain the level of comfort that these two items provided me! Since I’m nursing around the lock, the Shaun dress has quickly become a staple and is greatly appreciated that there is a built-in bra to make things a bit easier. The pants fit perfectly, and were soft and comfortable around my cesarean scar. I don’t have many pants that aren’t constricting and allow me to breathe, so was very happy to be able to try this type of pant out! I have also worn these out to the store, so very versatile in that sense!

Those pieces look so comfy and I love the vibrant colors on the pants! That baby feet pic is priceless, by the way!
