I meant to do Friday Five’s more often than once every 3 months, but life totally got a hold of me, and I’m lucky if I can get one blog post a week in. I’m always working on a balance but mostly just want to sleep 🙂 This week though, I wanted to share five things, that I basically took a chance on that are new to me – and all of them are winners to me!
1. Hubble Contacts
I first heard about Hubble Daily Contacts from an ad on my Instagram feed. It caught my eye because of how unique it looked – I’m easily swayed. I know that buying contacts can really cost a fortune and with the bad vision that I have and no eye insurance, I definitely needed to find something. I was happy to see they were offering a free box (just pay $3.00 shipping and handling) to be able to try it out before fully committing. Once I decided to commit it would be $30/month.
I was skeptical at first, but these are perfect contacts – nothing that stood out differently from ones that I received directly from the doctor! This is also coming from someone who doesn’t change them daily like suggested 🙂 No irritation!
Omg, seriously Chatbooks has the BEST commercial I have ever seen. I mean this whole-heartedly that I actually enjoyed and wanted to continue watching the commercial (that I first saw before a YouTube video) because it resonated so well with me – as a mom. If you have not seen it, I’ve placed in this post – it’s great! So, I finally purchased my first book and it actually ended up being FREE because everyone’s first book is free !

I have always wanted a book that has my Instagram photos since those sometimes contain filters and edits not found on the originals. Before a book goes to print you can edit the book to make sure all the correct photos are in there! You can also decide if you want one book mailed per month or all at once, but at typically just $8, I think it’s an affordable gift idea, too!
3. Black Charcoal Toothpaste
Have you seen those crazy photos of people who are brushing their teeth with some black stuff? It was quite intriguing and decided to purchase a tube off Amazon. I selected Twin Lotus Active Charcoal Toothpaste Herbaliste Triple Action solely based on the review score it got. I purchased it at the request of my boyfriend who is a smoker (eww) and coffee drinker so could definitely use a white refresh. For him, you could see results instantly. Now, whether that be long lasting, I’m not too sure at this point. Also, in case you were wondering, the taste is tolerable, but wouldn’t go as far as saying its good. It has a slight minty taste which helps overall.
Kindermusik is 4 week class for Truman to attend. Since the new baby I really wanted something that only Truman could do. For the most part he has adjusted well to a new sibling, but I still think that a lot of attention has been taken away from, plus staying home with Dad and baby limits his social environment. Basically, the class involves music and imagination – particularly the class Make Believe where they literally spend an hour pretending they are pirates, whales, under the sea, planes, etc. I love to see how he interacts with others. Kindermusik is probably in your city and you don’t even know it!
5. Granola cups
Finally, lately, I’ve been super obsessed with these Almond Butter Cups from Nature Valley! #NotSponsored – They are soooooooooooo good, and honestly fill me up! I’m contemplating making a copycat recipe, although, knowing me, it won’t turn out, but sure provides some inspiration for my next baking session!
