Dollar Tree Holiday Gift Guide 2016 Holidays product review

Dollar Tree Review: Eucalyptus & Mint Epsom Salts + $2 Gift Idea

It’s super rare when I –literally– become obsessed with a scent. I want to say that it all started four years ago when I was pregnant the first time with my son. With all the other new discoveries I was making when it came to my body changing I noticed that my sniffer was sensitive and I often could smell things no one else could. For some reason, around then and since then I became obsessed with the scent combinations of eucalyptus and mint

The product that started it all was Bath & Body Works’ Eucalyptus Spearmint Body Wash & Foam Bath that I ended up getting as a trial size freebie from those coupons that ocassionally come in the mail!

For years, I only knew this scent by Bath and Body Works and although they are notorious for having great sales, at $13.00 for a 10 fl. oz bottle, it sure added up and made me wish that there was a a more affordable alternative.

Then it happened – I discovered that cheaper alternative at Walmart. It was one of those shopping trips where you don’t go in for anything specific but just go up and down all the aisles adding things to your cart that make you happy. I zoned in on the Dr. Teal’s section of the bath aisle and just about flipped to see that there a 34 FLUID OUNCE BOTTLE for five dollars! A lot of the times I will pick up two bottles and hope it lasts me a month because I feel like I can through a bottle a week. I take a bath almost every night and it’s my favorite ‘me’ time of the day.

For 3 pounds (48 ounces) it is only five dollars! Of course, I add this stuff to my bath along with the foaming bath bottle as well because I’m that obsessed. Although $5.00 is considered a very good deal, I got super excited when I came across 16 ounce, separate bags of Eucalyptus and Mint Epsom salts at The Dollar Tree.

I decided to mix them to create that heavenly scent combo and the difference between dollar brand and Dr. Teal’s is unnoticeable and although combining the two bags equals only 32 ounces of Epsom salt, it cost me just two dollars to “make.” Since it is the Holidays, I decided to also purchase a glass container from The Dollar Tree and fill with the two Epsom salts and will plan on gifting to someone this year for the Holidays.

In the end it’s a dupe but one with not a HUGE price difference, but when you constantly shop at The Dollar Tree looking for alternatives to your favorite brands and products, it’s certainly exciting to come across one that gets a gold star!
