Clean Your Makeup Brushes with JOHNSON’S baby!

This post has been kindly sponsored by JOHNSON’S® baby; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

As a mom, and beauty junkie, anytime combining the two worlds together to make my life easier is a VERY welcomed thing! I also appreciate when a product can be used in more than one way! Obviously there is the convenience factor, but there is also a money-saving aspect to this! Since my son was born almost 5 years ago, we’ve always had JOHNSON’S® baby in the house! Did you know that there are other ways of using JOHNSON’S® baby products beyond on your children? I’m here to share of my favorite beauty hack involving JOHNSON’S baby shampoo – and a few others that may also be new to you! If you’re a parent you probably already have this baby shampoo on hand!

My favorite hack to share is that you can use JOHNSON’S® baby Shampoo to clean your makeup brushes. This one is so relevant to my daily life, because I use a combination of at least 7 makeup brushes a day, and the cleaning process is super important to keeping your brushes sanitary. I’ve learned -the hard way – that not having a brush cleaning routine can result in continuous breakouts! I recommend cleaning your brushes once a week, and using JOHNSON’S® baby Shampoo is a great choice to use in your brush cleaning routine!

Before – a couple of my dirtiest brushes:

Either in the kitchen or bathroom, I try to clean my brushes once a week, but honestly, it can go for much longer. I have so many, so when I feel rushed or lazy, I only focus on a small group of brushes! By eyeballing the amount, I pour some into a container and dip my brush in, and then run the brush under the faucet. Then, I swirl the brush/soap/water combo into the palm of my hand and then rinse again under water until the water is clear and not the color of the make up on the brush.

Then I dry off my brushes in a paper towel and lay them down flat so they can completely dry! They are usually always ready by the next day and there is something great about newly clean brushes and with using JOHNSON’S® baby they will even smell good, too!

How do you typically clean your makeup brushes? Did you already know that cleaning them with JOHNSON’S® baby is an equally effective way to do so? If you don’t have makeup brushes to really clean, there are a couple of other useful ways you could use other JOHNSON’S baby products, too:

Use JOHNSON’S® baby oil after a shower to lock in moisture (perfect for the dry winter months)
Use JOHNSON’S® baby lotion on your cracked heels before bed in the winter months
Use JOHNSON’S® baby wash when washing your hands in the winter months to provide mild and gentle care
Use JOHNSON’S® baby moisture wash as a mild face wash

Beauty hacks are the best and I’m always hearing new ones – I’d love to hear in the comments if you know of any other ways to use JOHNSON’S baby products or beauty hacks in general!

Such a great tip- I need to remember to clean my brushes more regularly. I hardly ever wear makeup so I am lazy about cleaning them, but this hack will definitely come in handy.

I could see that happening – if you aren’t a makeup junkie like myself it never seems like a high priority! 🙂
